Anime Pilgrimage #9: Tsuki Ga Kirei

I made a pilgrimage of Moon is Beautiful (月がきれい/Tsuki Ga Kirei) at Kawagoe in Saitama Prefecture. Kawagoe is known by the tourist as the “Little Edo” near Tokyo and also, a popular location for seichijunrei-sha.

All of the locations were pinpointed thanks to @touyoko_com‘s blog.

Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine (川越氷川神社)

I happened to be at the shrine during the Wind Chime Festival therefore tons of people were visiting in this shrine. Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine is also known for matchmaking and relationship therefore we saw Kotaro and Akane visiting this place in the anime.

Hikawa Bridge (氷川橋)

Back of Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine is the Shingashi River. Some bridges along the river were featured in the anime and one of these is the Hikawa Bridge.

Taya Wier (田谷堰)

Dokan Bridge (道灌橋)

Takushi Park (濯紫公園)

Bridge near Rokutsuka Inari Shrine (六塚稲荷神社)

Kumano Shrine (熊野神社)

Kashiya Yokocho (菓子屋横丁)

Kurazukuri Zone (蔵造りの町並み)

One of the main landmarks in Kawagoe.

Taisho-roman Street (大正浪漫夢通り)

Toki no Kane (時の鐘)

Renkeiji Temple (蓮馨寺)

Kawagoe Hikawa Festival, Kawagoe’s traditional Japanese festival, held annually on the third weekend of October. The parade route goes in front of Renkeiji Temple.
