I’m currently catching up my favorite series for pilgrimage after a long break and one of them is My New Boss is Goofy (新しいの上司はど天然, Atarashii Joushi wa Dotenen).

Most of the scenes are set in Tokyo, with Akita and Gunma featured during their business trips. I plan to cover those two locations once I have the opportunity to travel.

Work at Minette

Their company is situated in Yebisu Garden Tower in Ebisu, which is why most of the scenes are depicted around Yebisu Garden Place.

Staobucks Coffee (Starbucks Coffee) is conveniently located in the lobby of the building so it’s not surprising that Shirosaki and Momose went for a coffee before returning to the office.

Tokyoland

Tokyo Dome City is the model location of Tokyoland. Although some scenes weren’t depicted accurately, most of the rides they tried are the main attraction of this amusement park.

Sunmarine Aquarium

Sunmanrine Aquarium (Sunshine Aquarium) is Momose’s first client after he transferred to Minette. During their first visit, Momose and Shirosaki made a site visit to inspect the place before coming up a proposal.

In episode 11, it was the release day of Momose’s first ad and the ads were displayed at Ikebukuro Station East Entrance.

Around their neighborhood

Based on the hints from scenes around their home and the train they use, it’s safe to say that Momose and Shirosaki live in Kichioji.

It’s a convenient 25-minute train ride from their home, even with a transfer at Shinjuku Station. During the pilgrimage trip, instead of ‘commuting’ to office, I tried the other way around.

Koenji Station

In episode 1, just before their station, Momose disembark early and visits the nearby Koenji Pal Shopping Street.

Shirosaki also followed but wasn’t able to catch him up. So he made a call in front of the ticket gate (and unfornately, got lost)

Kichijoji Station

In episode 11, when they were looking for an apartment, the real estate agency is located near the station (which is also a real estate agency in reality but different name)

Toriyoshi Kichijoji

The restaurant where Shirosaki and Momose had lunch.

Suprisingly, the food they ordered was exactly the same as the restaurant’s recommended meal.

It was then that I realized Dan Ichikawa-sensei visited this restaurant and used it as a reference for the anime. Thank you for the recommendation, sensei!

Inokashira Park

The restaurant was in the nearby park so they both went for a walk while admiring the autumn foliage. Unfortunately, I visited during winter so I couldn’t appreciate the scenery as they did. Anyways, maybe I’ll find time to go back here during autumn.

I didn’t ride the swan boat but I got to spot the ahiru swan (swan with eyebrows). I think there are only 2 swans with this feature so I was lucky to spot one.
